Offshore steel with high minimum yield strength for lower weights
Our S500G1+M/G2+M proprietary steel is the right choice wherever extremely high requirements are made for weight-savings, weldability and safety – in the construction of offshore rigs, for example.
The strengths of S500G1+M/G2+M proprietary steel:
- This thermomechanically rolled fine-grained structural steel permits weight reductions thanks to its high and constant minimum yield strengths in the respective dimensions range: 500 MPa in 10 to 75 mm thicknesses, and 480 MPa in 75 to 100 mm thicknesses.
- S500G1+M/G2+M is based on the NORSOK MDS Y50/Y55 standard and thus also meets toughness requirements at half plate thickness.
- S500G1+M/G2+M can be supplied in the form of "pre-qualified material" with corresponding weldability analysis certificates.
