Dillinger heavy plate for Sakhalin-2
A special reference project for Dillinger
Sakhalin-2 licence areas are located in the Sea of Okhotsk off the North coast of Sakhalin Island and promotes the construction of two production platforms (Lunskoye-A in 48 m, Piltun-Astokhskoye-B in 30 m water depth) for one of the world’s largest integrated oil and gas projects.
Both platforms are constructed with a four-legged concrete foundation. For the topsides as well as all frames and apparatuses of the concrete foundation, steel from Dillinger is used.
A challenging project, due to the rough climate and dangers in the Sea of Okhotsk:
The offshore installations are exposed to extreme conditions for approximately six months of the year; such as icing, wave heights from 1-3 m or as high as 19 m during storms, strong gusts of wind in winter and autumn, intense snowfall, poor visibility, average temperatures between 18°C und -23°C, masses of ice of up to 1.5 m thick, which also move with a velocity of about 1 to 2 knots, and so forth.
A reference project for Dillinger:
The Sakhalin-2 Project is a pioneer project in the “Sub-Arctic” domain. It requires to the steel very high properties that only a few suppliers can easily meet.
