The path to climate-friendly production of quality steel being pursued by Saarstahl and Dillinger with Pure Steel+ has been honored with the German Brand Award as “Best of Best” in the “Brand Innovation of the Year” category. The award is presented by the German Design Council and the German Brand Institute for the best strategy for consistent brand management. The “Winner” designation was also given in the Brand Design category.
The awards were presented yesterday (15 June 2023) in Berlin to SHS – Stahl-Holding-Saar with its subsidiaries Dillinger and Saarstahl, along with the agency HDW – Neue Kommunikation.
The jury’s praise: “The new brand has a modern, solid and self-confident look, with the logo as clear as it is compact and featuring the distinctive plus sign, ensuring a high level of brand recognition. The transformation to green steel production is a difficult and lengthy process, but the first steps have been taken. And this positive mindset is conveyed through the overall look of the new “Pure Steel+” brand, both in terms of form and in the details.”
Chairman of the Board of Management Dr. Karl-Ulrich Köhler explained: “The fact that Pure Steel+ has won two of Germany’s most coveted brand awards for its innovative and sustainable communication is a confirmation of our efforts and gives us confidence to take the next big steps on the road to ‘green’ steel. Our thanks go to the HDW agency for the good cooperation and all employees who are working together to advance the Pure Steel+ project.”
