Reinhard Störmer selected Chairman of the Montan-Stiftung-Saar – Martin Baues new Chief Technical Officer of Saarland’s steel industry

Mr. Störmer succeeds Dr. Michael H. Müller, who died unexpectedly. Reinhard Störmer has been a member of the Curatorship since 14 November 2010 and has been Deputy Chairman of the Curatorship since August 2016.

At its meeting today, the Supervisory Board of Dillinger appointed Martin Baues (59) to a 5-year term as a member of the Board of Management of Dillinger as Chief Technical Officer, effective immediately. The Supervisory Board of SHS – Stahl-Holding-Saar appointed Martin Baues effective immediately to a 5-year term as a member of its executive management. Baues has additionally been a member of the Board of Management of Saarstahl since 2012. He became spokesman for the Management Board of Saarschmiede GmbH Freiformschmiede in April 2016. He resigned that position at the end of February. Baues will now simultaneously be responsible for the Technical Divisions of both Dillinger and Saarstahl.

“With Mr. Baues, we have a strong and experienced manager at the head of our technical management,” Reinhard Störmer, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of  SHS – Stahl-Holding-Saar, said, explaining the appointment by the boards of Martin Baues. “With the decisions that have now been taken, the Montan-Stiftung-Saar is resolutely continuing on the course set by the previous chairman, Dr. Michael Müller, who recently passed away. Our actions are focused on further merging the Dillinger and Saarstahl steel companies as well as on investments in promising business fields and process optimization in order to strengthen the sustainability of Saarland’s steel industry,” Störmer added.

Dr. Bernd Münnich (56) has resigned with immediate effect from the Dillinger Board of Management and as Managing Director of SHS – Stahl-Holding-Saar (SHS). “The Supervisory Boards of Dillinger and SHS would like to thank Dr. Bernd Münnich for his many years of commitment and great dedication to the company. We wish him all the best for the future," Reinhard Störmer said following the committee meetings.
