Personnel decisions in the Board of Directors of Aktien-Gesellschaft der Dillinger Hüttenwerke and Saarstahl AG as well as in the Management Board of SHS – Stahl-Holding-Saar GmbH & Co. KGaA

Following the resignation of Dr. Karlheinz Blessing from the Board of Directors of Dillinger Hütte and of Saarstahl as well as from his position as Managing Director of SHS – Stahl-Holding-Saar (SHS), the supervisory bodies addressed these personnel matters during their meetings this week on Thursday and Friday.

The Supervisory Boards of Dillinger Hütte and Saarstahl have appointed Fred Metzken (60) as Spokesman of the Board of Directors of Dillinger Hütte and of Saarstahl, effective immediately. Metzken has been a member of the Board of Directors of Dillinger Hütte since 2006 and a member of the Board of Saarstahl since 2009. He will also be responsible for Finance at both companies and continues to be a member of the Management Board of SHS – Stahl-Holding-Saar.

The Supervisory Board of SHS – Stahl-Holding-Saar has appointed Dr. Bernd Münnich (53) and Peter Schweda (58) as members of the SHS Board of Management, along with Dr. Michael Müller and Fred Metzken, effective 1 April 2016. Dr. Münnich continues to hold the position of Executive Officer, Technical Division at Dillinger Hütte, and Peter Schweda continues as Executive Officer, Human Resources and Labor Director at Dillinger Hütte and Saarstahl, including Saarschmiede GmbH Freiformschmiede.

“These decisions are in the context of the continued merger of Dillinger Hütte and Saarstahl, which is correct and necessary. At the same time, SHS – Stahl-Holding-Saar, as the management company for both companies, will be strengthened,” explained Dr. Michael Müller (Supervisory Board Chairman for Dillinger Hütte and Saarstahl) and Henner Wittling (Supervisory Board Chairman for SHS).
