Saarland economics minister Maas welcomes around 300 experts from the energy, chemicals and petrochemicals industries
Dillinger Hütte has, for no less than the seventh time, invited its global partners from its pressure-vessel and boiler engineering market segment to Dillingen for an interchange of experience and information. A two-day congress featuring technical papers, workshops and discussions on the topic of energy-supplies and energy-efficiency, fields to which Dillinger Hütte's steels make an important contribution, awaits the around three hundred experts from the energy, chemicals and petrochemicals industries, from plant engineering and operation, from the engineering sciences, from Research & Development and from acceptance organisations. In his welcoming speech, Heiko Maas, Saarland Minister of Economics, Employment, Energy and Transport, emphasised: "At both national and European level, the Saarland state government actively promotes the creation of stable economic and ecological boundary conditions in order to provide a secure future for our state's industry, including its most predominant sector, steel production". He noted, in particular, the vital role played by Dillinger Hütte. "This is a company which, with its high-quality heavy steel plate product, has succeeded in holding its own on world markets even in times of crisis, and which is decisively involved in the field of energy-efficiency and, to no lesser extent, in the expansion of the use of renewable energy sources". Steel from Dillingen is a vital material in assuring future energy-supplies and in the sustainable improvement of energy-efficiency. "Tailor-made" steels from Dillingen are used, for example, in the development of efficient technologies for oil and gas exploration, of modern power-plant technologies incorporating special processes for the reduction of CO2 emissions and enhancement of efficiency, and for the use of renewable energy sources. "The great demand for the products of the oil industry provides extremely good prospects for investments in the construction of new plants. Our customers' aim is that of making processes ever more efficient, but nonetheless safe and reliable. This target raises the demands made on these plants and on our plate - for us, an appropriate opportunity to continue, in co-operation with our customers, to highlight our status as a leading global producer", added Dr. Günter Luxenburger, Executive Officer, Sales and Marketing, at Dillinger Hütte. Today's "Dillingen Pressure Vessel Colloquium", returning on its three-year cycle, makes a vital contribution here.
Innovative top-quality steel products, total orientation around our customers' needs and unceasing technological development in close cooperation with our partners form the basis of our success - as they have for more than 333 years.
