The Viaduc de Millau, the Queen Mary II, the Olympic Stadium in Athens and the Shanghai World Financial Center are among the most popular examples of premium quality steel from Dillingen. In comparison, heavy plate steel used in construction of pressure vessels and boilers might at first seem unspectacular. But these steels play an important role in developing things like efficient technologies for oil and gas exploration, modern power plant technologies with special processes for reducing CO2, improved energy conversion efficiency, and the use of renewable energies.
These are also the focus of the International Pressure Vessel Colloquium being presented for the 8th time this year by Dillinger Hütte. The colloquium offers worldwide partners of Dillinger Hütte from this customer segment a chance to come to Dillingen and share their experiences and information with each other. Awaiting the roughly 300 experts – who come from the energy, chemical and petrochemical industries; from plant engineering and operation; from the engineering sciences; and from research and inspection companies – is a two-day congress with lectures, workshops and discussions about energy supply and efficiency, where Dillinger Hütte contributes with its steels.
“Since the mineral oil industry is struggling with a lack of investment due to overproduction and low prices, it is essential to further boost the efficiency of the processes while maintaining plant safety,” the experts agree. “As a result, increased demands are placed on the plants – and on the steel.” Dillinger Hütte sees good opportunities here to work closely with its customers in order to assert itself as a leading manufacturer. Today’s Dillinger Pressure Vessel Colloquium, which is held every three years, plays an important role in this.
Innovative top-quality steel products, total orientation around our customers' needs and unceasing technological development in close cooperation with our partners form the basis of our success - as they have for more than 333 years.
